Feline diabetes is a chronic condition characterized by an imbalance in blood sugar levels, primarily caused by the body’s inability to produce or utilize insulin effectively. Understanding Feline Diabetes

Similar to humans, cats can develop two types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 diabetes in cats occurs when the pancreas fails to produce enough insulin, leading to an absolute insulin deficiency. On the other hand, type 2 diabetes is characterized by insulin resistance, wherein the cat’s body fails to utilize insulin properly.
